Preschool & Childcare Center Serving Killeen, TX

We are looking for a Child Care Teacher to supervise, guide, and protect children while in care at the center.

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate competency, good judgment, and self-control in the presence of children and when performing assigned responsibilities.
• Relate to children with courtesy, respect, acceptance, and patience.
• Recognize and respect the uniqueness and potential of all children, their families, and their cultures.
• Ensure that no child is abused, neglected, or exploited while in the care at the center.
• Report suspected abuse, neglect, and exploitation to DFPS.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Know and comply with the minimum standards for child care centers.
• Know which children you are responsible for.
• Know each child’s name and have information showing each child’s age.
• Supervise children at all times.
• Ensure children are not out of control.
• Be free from activities not directly involving the teaching, care, and supervision of children.
• Interact with children positively.
• Foster developmentally appropriate independence in children through planned but flexible program activities.
• Foster a cooperative atmosphere.
• Show appreciation of children’s efforts and accomplishments.
• Ensure continuity of care for children by sharing with incoming caregivers information about each child’s activities during the previous shift and any verbal or written instructions given by the parent.

Qualifications:

• At least 18 years of age
• Have a high school diploma or high school equivalent
• Pass a background check
• Experience as a child care/daycare teacher (preferred)
• Certificate in first aid and CPR (or be willing to obtain within 90 days of employment)
• Must be have open availability between 6:00 am – 6:30 pm

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $10.00 – $11.00 per hour
